The most important of what is happening in Burgas related to the business environment.

A business conference brought together representatives of business, state administration and local authorities in Burgas

Over 180 participants participated in the regional business conference "Economic Partnership and Business Development in the Burgas Region", organized by Lider.BG and the Municipality of Burgas. The conference aroused great interest from businesses, state administration, local authorities, entrepreneurs, investors, experts, and representatives of the academic community.

"The city of Burgas has the privilege of being at a crossroads - a crossroads of business flows, of business ideas, and I hope that all the companies that are here will find their partner. If you head towards Turkey, leaving Burgas, on the still two-lane road, on the right side you will see that the infrastructure of a new future industrial zone is being built, which is twice as large as the first base. The first phase of the industrial zone is already 99.9% occupied. Only the streets remain, everything else has been purchased. What has not been built is currently being designed. Burgas is in dire need of new industrial sites and the task of the Municipality is to provide these prospects and business opportunities," said the mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, at the opening of the forum.

Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Krasimir Yakimov emphasized that the role of regional business is becoming increasingly key and Burgas business is extremely active in applying for funding under European programs.

In his address, he presented the current programs that businesses in Bulgaria can benefit from. The financial resources under them are over BGN 300 million, aimed at digitalization, innovation and energy efficiency.

He emphasized that there is currently an opportunity to apply for a procedure to improve energy efficiency in micro, small and medium-sized companies. The same has a budget of 126 million leva. And several more measures will be announced by Christmas. Submission of documents for all measures is online.

"Be even more active. Apply, take advantage of these programs. They will support the development of your ideas," Yakimov urged the attending business representatives from the region.
The Deputy Minister thanked the mayor, under whose patronage the regional business conference was held, for the fact that Burgas is hosting a business event for the first time, which provides an opportunity for dialogue, for searching and finding solutions."

Among the official guests and speakers of the conference were Tolga Orkun - Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, Mila Nenova - Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Iliyana Ilieva - Executive Director of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, Petar Ivanov - Executive Director of the Industrial and Logistics Park - Burgas, Stefan Trifonov - co-owner and manager of Electra Airways OOD and Electra Trans Global OOD and Georgitsa Ilieva - Technical Secretary of the Free Duty Free Zone - Burgas.
